Part 1. Listen to Amazon Music in Alexa App - Minimum Requirements
There're minimum requirements to prepare the devices well for an easier setup experience.
1.1 Update Amazon Alexa and Amazon Music on Your Device
Both the Amazon Alex and Amazon Music apps are essential to add Amazon Music to Alexa. Because Alexa won't have the access to music on its own but listeners can choose to connect Alexa to various music provider services, such as Amazon Music. You should have the latest versions of the Amazon Alexa and Amazon Music apps.
How to download/update the Amazon Alexa and Amazon Music apps:
1. From the Home screen of the iOS or Android device, open the App Store or Google Play app.
2. Go to Search.
3. Enter "Amazon Alexa"/"Audible" and search for it.
4. Click the Download or Update button to download and install the latest version of both the Amazon Alexa and Audible apps.
1.2 Enable Bluetooth Pairing on Your Device
You'll also enable the Bluetooth connection on your device that runs the Amazon Alexa and Audible apps. This can be used for an easier setup or as an alternative method to connect the device to the Amazon Echo in Part 3.
For iOS: From the Home screen of iPhone or iOS, open the Settings app > Bluetooth. Make sure Bluetooth is on.
For Android: From the Home screen of Android phone or tablet, swipe down from the top. Make sure Bluetooth is on.
1.3 Sign in to Amazon Alexa and Amazon Music on Your Device
On both the Amazon Alexa and Amazon Music apps, sign in to the same Amazon credentials.
New starters can follow the on-screen instruction to finish the setup with the Echo device. Of follow these steps on the Amazon Alexa app.
How to set up the Amazon Echo on the Amazon Alexa app:
1. On the Amazon Alexa app, tap Devices > Plus (+) > Add Devices > Amazon Echo > Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Plus and more under the ECHO SMART SPEAKERS. Or tap Devices > Plus (+) > Add Devices > (Amazon echo) under the AVAIALABLE DEVICES.
2. Now turn on the Amazon Echo, wait for the blue light turns orange.
3. On the screen of the device, tap Yes.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
If your device is not discovered, here are a few tips from Amazon's Alexa:
1. If you have a 1st or 2nd generation Echo device, enter Manual Setup.
2. Make sure you stay within 3 metres of your Echo device.
3. Check that your device is plugged in.
4. If you don't see an orange light, learn how to enter setup mode.
Part 2. How to Link Amazon Music to Echo through the Alexa App
Now start to link Amazon Music to the Amazon Alexa app.
How to link Amazon Music to Amazon Echo on the Amazon Alexa app:
1. On the Amazon Alexa app, tap Play > Settings (Gear) > Link New Service. You can also scroll to Link Music Services under Activity on the Home page of the app.
2. Select Amazon Music.
3. Link the same account used to sign in to Amazon Music to the Amazon Echo.
4. Start listening to Amazon Music.
You can tap Play > Settings (Gear) > Manage Services to find the linked music services. From here you are able to set Amazon Music as music provider so that the Echo device will turn to Amazon Music without asking.
Part 3. How to Link Amazon Music to Amazon Echo through Bluetooth
For starters, please ensure the Echo and the device that enables the Bluetooth are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
How to connect Amazon Echo to Wi-Fi:
1. Ensure the Echo device is plugged in and the Alexa app is open.
2. On the Amazon Alexa app, tap More > Settings > Device Settings.
3. Select the Echo device.
4. Tap Change next to the Wi-Fi network.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to select the Wi-Fi network in the Alexa app.
6. Log in to the Wi-Fi network.
7. Tap Connect.
You can choose to pair the Amazon Echo to Bluetooth in the device’s settings or through the Alexa app.
How to pair Amazon Echo to Bluetooth in devices settings:
1. Make sure the devices are within 3 metres of the Echo device.
2. Wake up the Echo device. Use this voice command: "Alexa, pair". Your Echo device will go into pairing mode.
3. Now repeat some settings to open the Bluetooth setting on the Android or iOS device. Select Alexa Echo [Echo-XXX] from the devices list to connect it to the device.
How to pair Amazon Echo to Bluetooth in Alex app:
1. On the Amazon Alexa app, tap Devices > Echo & Alexa.
2. Select the Echo device that pairs with the iOS or Android device.
3. Under the Bluetooth Connections section, tap Connect a device.
4. Pair the mobile device to Echo.
5. Once paired, open the Amazon Music app to start streaming music online.
Part 4. How to Cast Amazon Music to Echo through the Amazon Music App
In addition to listen to Amazon Music on Echo through the Alexa app or Bluetooth setting, Amazon Music also provides the Cast feature to let Amazon Music subscribers cast the music to an Alexa-enabled device, such as the Amazon Echo device.
How to cast Amazon Music to Amazon Echo in Amazon Music app:
Please ensure your Amazon Music subscription to either Prime or Unlimited is not ended, cancelled or expired to access this Cast feature. You can use a browser to go and check the status of your Amazon Music subscriptions in Your Amazon Music Settings.
For iOS/Android:
1. From the Home screen of the iOS or Android device, open the Amazon Music app.
2. Tap the More button (3 dots) at the top-right.
3. Tap Connect to a Device.
4. Select the Echo device to cast Amazon Music to it.
For iOS:
1. On the Amazon Music app, go into the music's Now Playing you wish to cast to the Echo device.
2. When you are viewing the Now Playing of the music, tap the Casting icon in the upper-right corner.
3. Select the Echo device to cast Amazon Music to it.

Step 1. Add Amazon Music
